The Success of the First Job Initiative meant more and more young people wanted to use Toucan’s services. It proved difficult for us to keep up with this demand until we started a new project Workstart funded by the Bridge House Trust.

The project helps young people under 25 no longer in Education who want to work. In 2 years the project has been very successful. Young people have moved on to Jobs with Employers like London Transport, Peacocks, The YMCA, Woolworths, Abel and Cole, New Wave Ltd, Kings College, Christchurch, ASDA, Southwark Tourist Information Centre, The Houses of Parliament and Sainsburys.
